Killer Lore Analysis

Introduction to the game

Dead By Daylight is an asymmetrical 1v4 game where a group of four Survivors must repair five generators in order to escape, while avoiding a Killer whose goal is to hunt them down and sacrifice them to the Entity by hanging them from hooks.

Introduction to the project

For this project, I wanted to analyse the lore of each Killer currently in the game. The analysis focuses on frequency of words per Killer's lore and across all Killers' lores, seeing whether each Killer serves the Entity willingly, by force, by manipulation, or otherwise, and common themes (if any) between each Killer's lore.

Corpus Analysis

This section analyses the frequency of words using AntConc.

Killer Motivation Analysis

This section is a compilation of the Killers' motivations, based on an analysis of both their lore and their physical appearance.

Common Themes

This section analyses common themes within the lore of each Killer, such as what their childhoods were like, what drew the Entity's attention to them, and etc.
